The first step in your journey is getting to Alaska. Several airlines provide daily service into Anchorage from various cities around the world. Alaska Airlines provides reliable and comfortable service from numerous locations from the lower 48 to Anchorage.

Get to Kodiak!

Airlines

The next step in your journey is getting to Kodiak. Kodiak is provided airline service from Anchorage by Alaska Airlines and ERA Aviation, which fly a combined seven flights per day. Alaska Airlines has two flights with a Boeing 737 Jet while ERA has at least five flights per day utilizing a Dash 8 aircraft. The flight from Anchorage to Kodiak takes between 45 minutes to an hour. www.alaskaair.com or www.flyera.com

Alaska Ferry

The Alaska Marine Highway system provides ferry service to Kodiak from Homer. The ferry takes about 10 hours to make the trip to Kodiak and makes the journey several times a week on the M/V Kennicott or the M/V Tustemena . http://www.dot.state.ak.us/amhs/index.shtml

Cruise Lines

Several cruise ship lines have a scheduled stop in Kodiak during in their Alaska cruise packages. They tend to only be in port for 8 hours – which provides only a small window of opportunity for exploring Kodiak. Our tours are very weather dependent, and will be canceled by 11AM if the weather conditions do not improve, to ensure your return to the ship.
